Under the direction of the Superintendent of Sanitation, the Waste Reduction Program Manager will manage the daily operations of all current and future zero waste initiatives including recycling, composting, etc. Provides supervision in the division and coordination of zero waste activities.

Position is responsible for coordinating the Commission’s day-to-day administrative duties and procurement processes. The incumbent will work closely with the Senior Director of Finance & Administration on general administrative tasks, the City’s Property Management to ensure our space is adequate and organized, and the City’s Central Procurement to ensure procurement of goods and services comply with the City’s requirement.
The Chief of Staff will build the foundation for the Office of Participatory Budgeting, supporting the Director in driving the Office's mission and goals with critical attention to equity, access, and inclusion. Under the direction of the Director, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for planning and directing all administrative, financial, and operational activities. The successful incumbent will organize and prioritize critical issues and required information for the Director to facilitate efficient decision-making. The Chief of Staff will be a point of contact between management and other stakeholders. It will also provide oversight and guidance to projects of high importance and be responsible for the management of support staff.

Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director for Compliance and Asset Management or designee, the Assistant Director for Housing Compliance and Asset Management is responsible for maintaining the department’s income restricted housing portfolio. In this capacity, the Assistant Director oversees the ongoing monitoring of the portfolio to ensure compliance with applicable City, State, and Federal rules and regulations, as well as affordable housing covenants and financing agreements. In addition, the Assistant Director seeks to preserve affordable housing by extending and modifying restrictions and agreements.
Under the leadership of the Director of the Office of Participatory Budget or their designee, the Finance & Grants Manager/Contract Manager leads, manages, and monitors the daily financial operations of the department. Prepares, develops, and keeps track of the department’s yearly budget, drafting accompanying memos for review and approval by the Director to submit to the Office of Budget and Management (OBM). The successful incumbent will Prepare and administer bids, proposals, and contracts for the Office, following the City of Boston policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Ensures that contracts and grants are administered and monitored to maintain compliance with the terms of agreements. They will provide administrative support to the Director and ensure all staff members receive the support needed to perform their job functions effectively.
Under the direction of the Director of Alterations and Repair, the Capital Projects Manager is responsible for managing the department’s construction initiatives, including capital renovation projects from the initiation of funding to the official completion and turnover of the project.
The City of Boston Property Management Department's (PMD) mission is to manage, maintain, repair, and provide security for the City's municipal buildings, including City Hall and Faneuil Hall, to preserve the useful life of City facilities and reduce operating costs through effective preventative maintenance measures. The Property Management Department is also responsible for managing capital projects such as office renovations, HVAC upgrades, elevator repairs, equipment installations, and more.
Under the direction of the Director of Alterations and Repair, the Capital Projects Coordinator assists in capital projects within the department’s building portfolio, ensuring projects and initiatives are aligned with the vision and strategic plans of the department. In addition, this role coordinates project activities with Department Leadership, City of Boston Departments, external contractors, and other stakeholders. Finally, it acts as the project manager on smaller-scale renovation or repair projects.
As the Property Management Department’s primary liaison with the Public Facilities Department, the Capital Projects Coordinator shall represent the department’s interests in all capital planning and Owner, Architect, and Contractor (OAC) meetings, coordinate complex projects involving multiple areas of building operations, and ensure that Department Senior Leadership are aware of key status and decision points for Capital Projects.

The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with City cabinets, agencies, and departments and agencies. The BRM will work to align innovation, data, process improvement, user experience research and design, technology budget, policies, and projects with the strategic goals of the stakeholders under the mayor's vision. The BRMs will support other Departments and Agencies in the development of programs, policies, and services bringing systems thinking and leveraging technical resources - including digital communications, data, etc. By strengthening trust, communication, and collaboration between DoIT and the rest of the City operations, BRMs will enable better outcomes for constituents.

The City of Boston’s Office of Green Infrastructure (OGI) is seeking a Green Infrastructure Program Manager. The OGI is located within the City of Boston’s Streets Cabinet and is tasked with coordination, implementation, and management of Green Infrastructure (GI) throughout the City. The Office performs various activities including planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, monitoring, and repair of City GI. The OGI also administers the City’s GI Working Group and other GI-related cross-departmental initiatives. The Green Infrastructure Program Manager will be responsible for cross-departmental coordination. GI asset tracking and management, GI training, and job programs. GI maintenance planning and delivery, and communication and public education programs for the OGI. The Program Manager shall guide and oversee the GI working group and GI jobs program. Facilitating GI classroom and field work with Power Corps BOS; and planning /hosting GI job fair events. The GI Program Manager will launch, maintain and update the GI database. The Program Manager will also be responsible for assembling and maintaining public education and communications material, including GI web pages, for the OGI.

The Home Center also markets homes developed for income-eligible, first-time homebuyers.
Under the direction of the Deputy Director or their designee, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for overseeing program design and delivery of special programs of the Boston Home Center (such as Additional Dwelling Units and Condo Affordability Preservation) focused on increasing opportunities for low and moderate income Boston residents to buy homes, providing technical assistance to existing homeowners, and marketing income restricted housing. The Senior Program Manager may also be assigned to manage additional programs related to homeownership, depending on need.

The Boston Community Choice Electricity (BCCE) Engagement Assistant will work with the BCCE Program Manager to engage with customers and prospective customers to educate, assist and enroll Boston residents and small businesses in the BCCE program.
BCCE is Massachusetts's most extensive municipal aggregation program, with more than 200,000 customers, providing electricity to Bostonians. Customers can receive electric supplies from the electric distribution company (currently Eversource for Boston), third-party suppliers, or in Boston, BCCE. Compared to the options, BCCE provides price stability, competitive pricing, and the opportunity to purchase electricity with lower carbon emissions.
The successful candidate will work closely with the BCCE Program Manager, Director of Communications, Director of Community Engagement for the Environment, Energy and Open Space Cabinet (EEOS), Environment Department Community Engagement Manager and the Environment Department's Communications Manager, the City's municipal aggregation consultant, the electricity supply vendor, and others to help educate the public about the program. This will include replying to constituent phone calls and emails, attending City and community meetings and events, and making presentations in person and virtually.

The City of Boston is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2050. Transportation is the community’s second largest source of emissions, largely due to the use of gas-powered vehicles and commuters driving to Boston for work.
The parking freezes, administered by the Air Pollution Control Commission (APCC), were created under state and federal law to cap the amount of off-street commercial parking available in Boston’s core, and support the City’s transportation, carbon neutrality and clean air goals. On September 19, 2020, the APCC amended the freeze regulations to strengthen program administration.
The Air Quality Project Manager will work with the APCC and other City agencies, residents, businesses, and institutions to administer programs, identify obstacles and facilitate solutions leading to short-term and long-term air quality improvements, in support of the Mayor’s goals of carbon neutrality and a healthy environment. Candidates should have a passion for clean air and low-carbon mobility, an affinity with maps and spreadsheets, and bring energy and creativity to pollution reduction across Boston’s communities.
