The Office of Returning Citizens (ORC) is an office within the Mayor’s Office of Human Services that is dedicated to supporting the 3,000 individuals who return to Boston after being released from state, federal and county facilities each year, as well as others who were previously incarcerated. This office aims to empower people reintegrating into their communities after incarceration to reach full potential as individuals, family members and residents of Boston. The mission of the ORC is to help returning citizens recover from the trauma of incarceration, reclaim their dignity and purpose, and rebuild their lives through positive choices, incentives, and opportunities. We believe that with supportive services and resources, returning citizens can successfully return to safe, stable and fulfilling lives. The ORC aims to empower our clients to break the cycle of recidivism, through hands-on case management and an extensive provider referral network.
We are seeking an individual for the position of Director of Policy and Strategic Initiatives to assist with providing services to individuals reentering the community. Under the direction of the Director, the Director of Policy and Strategic Initiatives will help to break down systemic barriers that limit returning citizens from reaching their full potential.

Helping residents understand the work and the workers of Public Works and BTD allows us to build a stronger relationship with our constituents and opens up new channels for their feedback on our work.
Under the direction of the Director of Communications, the Public Information Officer (PIO) ensures critical PublicWorks and Transportation Department information is publicly disseminated through new and traditional media, and is increasingly available in multiple languages so that it can be accessed by all constituents. The Public Information Officer will also be the Public Works and/or BTD’s spokesperson as needed.
The PIO leads the effort to tell the story of Public Works and Boston Transportation, identifying and implementing an outreach strategy for the Department.

This position provides educational opportunities for women that emphasize economic equality, child care, programs for young girls, and the health and safety of all women.

This single position class is responsible for managing, directing and integrating the functions, programs and activities of the Office of Women’s Advancement. The incumbent provides strategic leadership to the Mayor, City Council, and senior City management to address social and economic issues faced by women.

The mission of the Equity and Inclusion Cabinet is to transform City policies, programs, and practices so that every resident has full access to what the City of Boston has to offer. With the goals of achieving racial justice and improving social determinants of health through systemic change for historically excluded communities, the Equity and Inclusion Cabinet:
- directly improves outcomes with and for residents,
- counsels all City departments to better address issues of equity, inclusion, and access,
- and creates the conditions for residents to build their collective power.
The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with City cabinets, agencies, and departments and agencies. The BRM will work to align innovation, data, process improvement, user experience research and design, technology budget, policies, and projects with the strategic goals of the stakeholders under the mayor's vision. The BRMs will support other departments and agencies in the development of programs, policies, and services bringing systems thinking and leveraging technical resources - including digital communications, data, etc. By strengthening trust, communication, and collaboration between DoIT and the rest of the City operations, BRMs will enable better outcomes for constituents.
The Head Lifeguard primary responsibility is the supervision of pool staff, patrons and the entire pool facility in compliance with local board of health regulations. The person in this position is responsible for guarding the pool, ensuring the safety of all patrons, enforcing the pool rules, maintaining cleanliness and sanitary conditions around the pool facility and implementing the emergency protocols as needed. The Head Lifeguard is also responsible for administering aquatic programs and activities as set forth by the Department, including teaching swim lessons, coaching the youth swim team, supervising group swim activities, and assisting with other aquatic activities.

The Supportive Housing Division at the Mayor's Office of Housing is responsible for leading the collaborative effort to end homelessness in Boston. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Housing Development Officer, the Housing Development Officer is responsible for managing a variety of supportive housing and homeless programs. This role will manage a variety of programs including providing administrative and programmatic oversight of assigned contracts and using data to achieve performance metrics. The incumbent is responsible to assist with the coordination of internal and external programs, funding and stakeholders to ensure appropriate and efficient allocation of resources and to assist with achievement of Divisional and City strategic goals.
