THIS IS A TEMPORARY, GRANT-FUNDED POSITION.
The Boston Police Department (BPD) received an award from the US Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) grant program - to improve Boston’s capacity to respond to violent crime, and the functioning of its criminal justice (CJ) system - through the investigation and prosecution of cases resulting from SAK evidence and the collection of lawfully owned DNA. As a part of this Initiative, the Department seeks a full-time criminal intelligence analyst to work out of the BPD’s Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC), assigned to the Sexual Assault Unit (SAU) at the Family Justice Center. As a member of the SAU investigative team, the criminal intelligence analyst will provide investigative case support for ongoing sexual assault investigations, and focus on the identification of serial offenders and pattern / trend analysis of sexual assault cases. They will also perform training support for the SAU Detectives related to ViCap database eligible cases, other data input and analyses to support the goals of the SAK Initiative; provide investigate support to detectives through the use of various data systems and analytic methodologies; and communicate effectively with other members of the investigative team in order to help solve cases, in collaboration with members of the SAKI Multidisciplinary Working Group (MWG). The Criminal Intelligence Analyst will contribute to the intelligence sharing responsibilities of the BRIC, under the rules, procedures, and policies of the BPD and BRIC.

Position Overview
Under the direction of the Digital Projects Manager, the Statewide Digitization Program Supervisor serves as the primary intermediary for all projects related to statewide digitization and ensures that all components of BPL digitization workflows as well as external digitization partners and vendors are fully engaged for current and future projects. This position works at a high level to review and analyze digitization services offered by the BPL and advocates for improvements and expansions to those services, investigating metrics and engaging with partner institutions and other stakeholders to measure the success of Digital Commonwealth and leading efforts to increase the impact of digitized collections.
