The OPAT Investigator will be part of a team working to advance the goals of the Office of Police Accountability and Transparency (OPAT). OPAT was established in 2020 to provide a single point of entry for individuals with concerns or complaints related to the Boston Police Department and its officers and sworn personnel to be heard and addressed. The position requires a high level of professionalism, diplomacy, patience, and confidentiality. The successful candidate needs to consistently communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing.
Under the direction of the Cataloging and Processing Manager, provides supervision, cataloging training, and bibliographic database quality control to ensure accurate and efficient discoverability and location of the library’s holdings via the online catalog and other publicly accessible databases. Supervises advanced cataloging functions across all library materials (both physical and electronic), including original cataloging, file loading, and database maintenance work within the Cataloging and Processing department. The Office of Police Accountability and Transparency (OPAT) was established in 2020 as an independent body to provide a single point of entry for individuals with concerns or complaints related to the Boston Police Department (the “BPD”) sworn and civilian personnel to be heard and responded to. OPAT consists of an administrative staff and three boards comprised of community members appointed by the Mayor of Boston to achieve its goals. In addition, OPAT reviews and makes recommendations on BPD rules and policies and generates public reports on OPAT’s work and BPD activity.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Recreation Equipment and Events Specialist to manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies, equipment, and materials for the Recreation unit. This role is essential for ensuring that all resources are efficiently handled and are available for various Parks Department events.
Under the direction of the Site Administrator, the Maintenance Worker/Custodian will be responsible for the cleaning, securing, and preventive maintenance of the assigned facility(ies).
Reporting to the Tree Maintenance Foreperson or General Tree Maintenance Foreperson, or a designee, the Tree Equipment Operator and Laborer (TEOL) will perform tasks related to the planting, removal, maintenance, and care of trees using hand and power tools, and adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Duties include planting, pruning, and removing trees and branches. He/she will also use climbing gear and equipment to climb trees with chainsaws, hand saws, and tree trimmers to complete jobs. This is labor-intensive work and requires strong communication skills to safely work with all crew members at the various job sites throughout the City of Boston.
