The Office of Police Accountability and Transparency (OPAT) was established in 2020 as an independent body to provide a single point of entry for individuals with concerns or complaints related to the Boston Police Department (the “BPD”) sworn and civilian personnel to be heard and responded to. OPAT consists of an administrative staff and three boards comprised of community members appointed by the Mayor of Boston to achieve its goals. In addition, OPAT reviews and makes recommendations on BPD rules and policies and generates public reports on OPAT’s work and BPD activity.
The Boston Public Library is seeking applicants for part-time positions in the Central Branch Borrower Services department. Mature, dependable individuals are invited to apply. Under the general direction of the Director of Animal Control, removes any dog or other animal that is injured, maimed, or diseased.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Recreation Equipment and Events Specialist to manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies, equipment, and materials for the Recreation unit. This role is essential for ensuring that all resources are efficiently handled and are available for various Parks Department events.
Under the direction of the Site Administrator, the Maintenance Worker/Custodian will be responsible for the cleaning, securing, and preventive maintenance of the assigned facility(ies).
Reporting to the Tree Maintenance Foreperson or General Tree Maintenance Foreperson, or a designee, the Tree Equipment Operator and Laborer (TEOL) will perform tasks related to the planting, removal, maintenance, and care of trees using hand and power tools, and adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Duties include planting, pruning, and removing trees and branches. He/she will also use climbing gear and equipment to climb trees with chainsaws, hand saws, and tree trimmers to complete jobs. This is labor-intensive work and requires strong communication skills to safely work with all crew members at the various job sites throughout the City of Boston.

The Neighborhood Liaison reports to a Deputy Director in the Office of Neighborhood Services and is the principal representative of the Mayor in their assigned neighborhood. The Neighborhood Liaison’s primary responsibilities are: (1) performing excellent constituent services, (2) building strong relationships with key neighborhood leaders, (3) detecting and elevating key areas of growing concerns in their assigned neighborhood, (4) conducting community engagement on key Mayoral initiatives, and (5) supporting constituents during periodic emergency responses (i.e. fires, water breaks, etc.).
Incumbents are responsible for providing advocacy services to older adults, which may include providing information and referral, processing benefit applications, conducting home visits, preparing reports, selling taxi coupons, monitoring follow-ups, and performing related duties.
