Brief Job Description:
Responsible for medical case management/ medical bill review in the Workers’ Compensation Service. Under the supervision of the Workers’ Compensation Agent, coordinates bill paying activity using utilization review guidelines. Works with workers’ compensation case managers and claims manager(s) to perform medical case management, provide approval for bill payment, provide medical explanations, and utilize the vendor payment software. Also confers with attorneys on litigated cases involving medical issues. Properly utilize vendors for utilization review, peer reviews, and medical case management as needed. Provide statistics regarding the cost of medical treatment for Workers’ Compensation claimants. Also, based upon statistics, develop risk management techniques to reduce medical costs associated with Workers’ Compensation.
THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION FOR APPROXIMATELY 9 MONTHS WITH POSSIBILITY TO RENEW.

The Boston Transportation Department is seeking a Transportation Demand Management Planner to develop and steer transportation demand management policies and programs that advance the city’s collaboration with developers, employer-based organizations, professional associations, and private transportation service and technology providers.
Reporting to the Commissioner or designee, and as part of the New Mobility Team, the Transportation Demand Management Planner addresses issues related to the constantly evolving mobility landscape in order to create and enforce a transparent framework to reduce single-occupancy motorized travel and mitigate new developments' effects on the transportation system.

Under the general direction of the Chief of Staff, the Administrative Intake Specialist will be part of a new team working to advance the goals of the Office of Police Accountability and Transparency (OPAT). OPAT was established in 2020 to provide a single point of entry for individuals with concerns or complaints related to the Boston Police Department and its officers and sworn personnel to be heard and responded to.
The Administrative Intake Specialist will often be the first point of contact and will work closely with OPAT Investigators, the community and key stakeholders to ensure that investigations are completed in a timely and equitable manner. The position requires a high level of professionalism, diplomacy, patience, and confidentiality. The successful candidate needs to consistently communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing.
