The mission of the Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) is to make Boston the most livable city in the nation by working with communities to build strong neighborhoods through the strategic investment of public resources.  DND oversees programs that create and preserve affordable housing, support homeowners and renters, provide housing and services to homeless individuals and families, and dispose of city-owned property.   Much of the financial assistance MOH provides to affordable housing developers and homeowners is in the form of loans.  The Loan Management Unit within MOH is responsible for managing MOH’s loan portfolio, including billing and disbursements, as well as processing new loans, loan modifications, subordinations, and discharges.   Brief Job Description:   Under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Loan Management, the Loan Monitor performs various functions related to the maintenance of the department’s loan portfolio and performs special projects as directed.  The Loan Monitor is a key member of MOH’s Administration and Finance Division, ensuring that existing loans are in good standing and that new loans are set up in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.  This position is an exciting opportunity for a finance or real estate professional with loan origination or servicing experience interested in helping make Boston the most livable city in the nation.

Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):   The City of Boston Retrofit Resource Hub will support building owners in decarbonizing their properties, delivering benefits to owners, tenants, and occupants. The Retrofit Resource Hub Manager will conduct intake of and outreach to building owners, provide one-on-one technical assistance to building owners on how to decarbonize their buildings, and connect building owners with programs and resources needed to achieve emissions reductions, including those required by the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO). An important aspect of this role will be to develop equitable programs that bring resources and benefits to under-resourced building owners and buildings in environmental justice neighborhoods. The Retrofit Resource Hub Manager will also curate content for the online Retrofit Resource Hub, develop an operations plan for the Hub, and coordinate with peer cities to bring best-practices to Boston’s Hub. This technical expert will have experience in equitable program design, experience with financing construction and retrofit projects, and efficient building design and systems, including electrification, weatherization, and renewable energy. The Retrofit Resource Hub Manager will report to the Carbon Neutrality Program Manager in the Environment Department.   Background:   The Mayor's administration is committed to a Green New Deal for Boston, by reducing planet-warming pollution while creating economic opportunities for everyone, especially those from marginalized communities who often suffer the worst impacts of climate change. In October 2021, the City passed the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO 2.0), which sets carbon targets for medium- and large-sized buildings across Boston to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The Retrofit Resource Hub will be an important program for bringing equitable decarbonization to Boston’s buildings.
