Under the direction of the Supervising Traffic Engineer for Permits and Special Events, the Senior Traffic Engineer for Special Events supervises the review, approval, and coordination of special use permits on behalf of BTD. Specifically, the Senior Traffic Engineer for Special Events (STESE) coordinates the review and implementation of the following permits: Block Parties, Walks and Road Races, Assemblies, Valet Parking Areas, Street Occupancy, Municipal Lots, and other Special Events. The STESE coordinates these permits with the Boston Police and Fire Departments, BTD Operations and Public Works, the Office of the Parking Clerk, the City of Boston Special Events Committee, and the Office of Neighborhood Services. The STESE reviews permits for compliance with the City of Boston Traffic Rules and Regulations and Ordinances, Streets Cabinet Policy, and BTD Standard Operating Procedures.
