- Five years of professional experience in public administration, business management, real estate appraisal, or a related field is required.
- Appropriate educational substitutions may be accepted for two years of this experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience is required.
- Professional knowledge of assessing practices, particularly in abatement and personal exemption law and procedures, is required.
- Knowledge of the MA Department of Revenue requirements and departmental standards preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of valuation methodology, including CAMA (computer-assisted mass appraisal) systems and appraisal of complex and/or specialized properties preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical, administrative, and project management skills preferred.
- Demonstrated professional oral and written communication and presentation skills preferred.
- Sound knowledge of PC environment and appropriate software application preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and meet complex operational goals in required time frames is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to exercise good judgement and focus on detail as required by the job.
Boston Residency Required.
