Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Network Operations, the Data Processing Systems Analyst will support the daily administrative functions of the Network Operations Team to ensure the efficient operation of network services.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor backup processes and network up/down events. Ensure any issues are promptly identified and assigned to the appropriate team members for resolution. 
  • Keep accurate records of hardware inventories and support contracts. Ensure all equipment is properly documented and tracked using inventory management systems.
  • Provide assistance to users experiencing issues with remote network access tools and VPN connectivity, including basic troubleshooting. 
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving desktop network connectivity issues. Work with desktop support to identify problems with network jacks and ensure timely resolution.
  • Monitor the Network Operations ticket queue, assign tickets to appropriate team members, and ensure timely resolution of support requests. 
  • Oversee software licenses, ensuring timely renewals and compliance with vendor agreements. Maintain relationships with vendors and coordinate contract negotiations and renewals. 
  • Handle procurement of hardware and software, working closely with vendors to obtain quotes and process purchase orders. 
  • Assist with user account management, including setting up new accounts, password resets, and access permissions. 
  • Support the team in scheduling and deploying patches and updates to network devices and servers. 
  • Maintain and update network documentation, standard operating procedures, and user guides. 
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients and stakeholders during both emergency and planned network outages. 
  • Proactively coordinate with departments to schedule server reboots and maintenance activities, ensuring downtime occurs at times that minimize impact on their operations.
  • Ensure appropriate notifications are sent out ahead of maintenance activities, providing advance notice to all affected parties. 
  • Provide timely and accurate updates on the status of network disruptions, maintenance activities, and expected resolution times.
  • Perform additional administrative and support tasks as needed to assist the Network Team.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred. 
  • At least one (1) year of experience in an IT support or administrative role.
  • Basic understanding of network operations and IT infrastructure. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management tools.
  • Experience with inventory management or asset tracking systems. 
  • Familiarity with remote access tools and basic troubleshooting of connectivity issues.  
  • Experience in troubleshooting network connectivity issues. 
  • Knowledge of backup processes and network monitoring tools. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical staff. 
  • ITIL Foundation certification is a plus. 
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) are a plus.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside regular business hours to assist with maintenance activities.
