Overview:

Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

 

Under general supervision, operates and has responsibility for one of a wide variety of special heavy motor equipment requiring a Commercial Driver's License & a Hoisting License and/or requiring unusual skill.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Duties/Functions (in order of importance):

  • May be responsible for the maintenance and care of a small number of pieces of equipment.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, security, and operation of assigned specialty vehicles.
  • Loads and unloads trucks; picks up and hauls material.
  • Completes required forms and reports.
  • Responds to and handles Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) cases. 
  • May use mobile technology to communicate with supervisors and inspectors regarding Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) cases. 
  • Supports other Public Works Divisions as requested.
  • Performs related work as required. 

Required to work any emergency as directed by the Chief of Streets or designee.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements (Licenses/Certifications):

  • Must possess any and all licenses required by the Mass Dept. of Public Safety to operate any special heavy motor equipment, including a valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a Hoising License.
  • Must have the ability to exercise good judgment and be able to focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Applicants must be available to work any assigned shift in any assigned location.

 

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
