Overview:

Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

 

Assists Chief and Senior Claims Investigators on investigations and expedites public inquiry and/or complaints relative to outstanding parking violations, ticket payments, seizures, and right of appeal of resident permits, abandoned vehicles, and related informational requests; operates computer terminal and other devices, microfilm and microfiche viewers.

Responsibilities:

  • Opens, reviews, investigates, and classifies correspondence related to ticket disputes and information requests; forwards correspondences with appropriate forms and documentation to designated areas for purposes of data entry, signature, filing, mailing, etc.
  • Compiles statistical and other material for reports and performs related work as required. May be rotated to perform various assignments at different times.
  • Performs related work as required by the job.

Required to work any emergency as directed by the Commissioner of Transportation or designee.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years experience in customer service and clerical work of more than average difficulty.
  • Substitutions: GED in lieu of High School Diploma. Successfully completed secretarial and/or clerical courses above the High School level for one (1) year of the required experience. 
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Previous claims investigation/parking violation experience with administrative investigation systems preferred. 
  • Bilingual speaking is preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
