The City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) seeks a highly qualified candidate to serve as a Training & Exercise Planner. The position is funded partially under the Department of Homeland Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program. The successful candidate will have strong project management and communication skills and will be responsible for supporting components of the Training and Exercise program. Under the supervision of the UASI Program Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing disaster preparedness training and exercise programming that tests and supports emergency plans, identifies gaps, and strives to improve community preparedness and resiliency for all hazards.
This position is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and conducting training courses, workshops, seminars, exercises, and meetings, which may include securing instructors (as required), developing and sourcing instructional materials, and securing equipment and reserving facilities. This position ensures that the training and exercise program provides disaster preparedness training for whole community audiences.
