The City of Boston seeks to hire a Youth and Schools Manager to support the work of the Senior Advisor to the Mayor for Youth and Schools. This role collaborates closely with Boston Public Schools and other city departments, as well as partner organizations, to advance the administration’s priorities around youth and education. This role supports the strategic coordination and implementation of a variety of projects, opportunities, and policies to best support youth and their families in the City of Boston. Candidates applying should have experience or interest in Secondary Schools (grades 7-12).
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and organized, has a willingness to learn and quickly adapt to changing situations, and is excited about taking on new challenges as priorities arise in a fast-paced environment. They will have familiarity or a commitment to learn the programs, policies, and structures related to education, youth development, and family and community advancement. A strong candidate will have a knack for strategic planning and implementation, as well as building systems and policies that are intuitive and culturally responsive to Boston’s residents. They will also have a deep commitment to centering social justice and knowledge of the City of Boston.
