Overview:

Under the direction of the Program Manager, oversee the implementation of all policies and procedures in the administration of Boston Community Center’s G.E.D. Testing Program. Schedule test dates for conducting G.E.D. Tests with appropriate staff at local centers. Administer and monitor the G.E.D. testing of students in adult education and alternative high school programs. Grade tests, record test results, and report said results to local centers, test takers, and the Massachusetts Department of Education.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update computerized record-keeping systems of past and present G.E.D. test scores, G.E.D. graduates, etc.
  • Maintain correspondence with the Massachusetts Department of Education regarding the status of the G.E.D. Testing Program.
  • Maintain security for G.E.D. test materials. Order G.E.D. test materials in consultation with the Program Manager.
  • Supervise and schedule any G.E.D. Testing Alternates.
  • Perform other responsibilities as determined by the Program Manager.
  • Perform related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Two (2) years experience working in a community-based organization, preferably in an adult education program.
  • Good record-keeping skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Transportation and the ability to work some evenings (during heavy testing periods as many as 3 nights per week).
  •  Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
