Overview:

This is a provisional appointment.

 

Under general supervision, the Police Clerk & Typist will be assigned to the Facilities Management Division.

Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities include:

  • Answering telephone inquiries.
  • Maintaining files and records.
  • Sorting and disseminating supplies.
  • Typing and data entry.
  • Responsible for channeling and tracking emergency request calls for service.
  • Assisting with responding in writing to a variety of agencies, such as the Department of Public Health, the EPA, and Department Labor Unions.
  • Assisting in the development and execution of a work order management system.
  • Performing related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have at least two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, paid professional experience in administrative office work.
  • It is strongly preferred that all applicants have experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. 
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Ability to work with little supervision, be a self-starter, a self-motivator, and able to solve problems.

 

CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK REQUIRED

A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST IS REQUIRED

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
