Overview:

Under the direction of the Site Administrator, the Maintenance Worker/ Custodian will be responsible for the cleaning, securing, and preventive maintenance of the assigned facility(ies). 

Responsibilities:

  • He/she will make easy to moderately difficult equipment and building repairs and improvements.
  • Opens and closes facility(ies).
  • Maintains a clean and hygienic environment both inside and outside; ensures a secure and safe building for the public and staff; remove snow and ice; regulates basic services such as electricity, heating, cooling and ventilation; monitors and reports on operation and maintenance need of these services; orders supplies and equipment as necessary; prepares and maintains an approved daily work check list log.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Minimal operating knowledge of heating, electrical, elevators, air-conditioning, emergency lighting, power tools, and snow blowers required.
  • Ability to lift heavy weights, shovel snow, and climb ladders is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and cleaning products preferred.
  • Must have and maintain a current Massachusetts driver's license.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Must be able to work weekends.
