The City of Boston Equity and Inclusion Cabinet works to foster equity and improve the social determinants of health throughout the City through numerous programs, initiatives, and policies. Today, the Equity Cabinet is working closely with the Mayor’s Office to ensure the City’s Reparations Task Force is well-equipped to deliver recommendations to the Mayor for repairing harms enacted by the City on Black Bostonians through the transatlantic slave trade and its legacy. In 2022, the City enacted the Ordinance that created the Task Force, tasking them with collaborating with researchers to accomplish this work. The project manager will report to the Chief of Equity and Inclusion and work directly with the Task Force and the internal team to support activities related to the ordinance, manage administrative tasks, and ensure the overall success of the Task Force. This position’s contract will run from May 2024 through December 2025, with the possibility to extend depending on the Task Force’s progress.
