Overview:

THIS IS A TEMPORARY, GRANT-FUNDED POSITION. 

 

Under the supervision of the Director of the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC), the Real Time CrimeCenter (RTCC) Supervisor will supervise analysts within the BRIC’s RTCC, ensuring all relevant policies and procedures are followed and assisting them with the core functions of the Real Time CrimeCenter.  This position is grant funded and may be limited to the duration of the grant.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise analysts assigned to the BRIC’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC).
  • Oversee the RTCC daily analytic production cycle and ensure that responsibilities are appropriately tasked and delegated based on priority and analytic capacity.
  • Manage the development of tactical analytic products to support both Department and regional public safety goals and objectives.
  • Identify data and information requirements of the RTCC in order to focus analyses on priority information needs, fill intelligence/information gaps, and ensure data-analyses are supported by all relevant and legally-available information sources in a timely manner.
  • Supervise the review, processing, and collation of all-source data and information required for analytic production.
  • Develop crime analysis and intelligence analysis products and services based on the evolving criminal information needs and public safety concerns of the BRIC’s partners and customers.
  • Assist the BRIC Director and Management Team in strategic planning efforts and internal training and mentoring objectives; including the hiring and onboarding of new RTCC analysts.
  • Review and edit analytic products generated by the RTCC to ensure they are clearly articulated, grammatically correct, and meet the BRIC’s requirements for objectivity, source validity, timeliness, applicability, analytic value, and legal compliance (to ensure protection of privacy,civil rights and civil liberties).
  • Assist BRIC Management Team with special events/special operations planning and related operational support.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; a Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years full-time or equivalent part-time paid technical or professional experience where the major duties involved strategic, tactical and administrative crime/intelligence analysis or applied social science research experience, preferably in a Fusion Center or Real Time Crime Center environment; at least two (2) years strongly preferred to have been serving in managerial capacity.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in GIS, word processing, and database management software; a high level of accuracy and attentiveness to numerical calculation; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong written and oral communication skills; and the ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
  • It is strongly preferred that all applicants have extensive experience using ESRI GIS technologies, Microsoft Office products; and a degree in criminology, criminal justice, computer science, or in a field with concentrations in advanced analytic methodologies.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance through the Federal Government.
