THIS IS A TEMPORARY GRANT-FUNDED POSITION.
The Boston Safe and Successful Youth Initiative (SSYI) is a multidisciplinary, comprehensive service delivery strategy to enhance the quality of life of youth who are the most at risk of being victims or perpetrators of gun violence. SSYI uses a well-developed data analysis system based on criminal history, network analysis and intelligence to look for individuals who present the greatest risk for gun violence and/or victimization.
The Boston Police Department has received a grant from the MA Executive Office of Health and Human Service to hire a full-time Crime Analyst to work within the Boston Police Department’s Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC).
Under the supervision of the Director of the BRIC, the Crime Analyst will be assigned analytic responsibilities in support of the SSYI model, to include analyzing crime data, coordinating information-sharing activities and managing data systems. The Crime Analyst will also be required to attend law enforcement and service providers meetings to improve communication and collaboration; contribute to the production of crime and intelligence analysis reports and briefings specific to the SSYI initiative; manage the secure, web-based platform used to facilitate collaboration across agencies, recording important information on individuals, and encouraging mutual accountability; present to stakeholders on analytic findings; and participate in discussions at meetings focused on prolific criminal offenders.

Within the Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH), under the supervision of the Chief of Staff or designee, the Director for the Neighborhood Housing Development Division is the City’s leader for financing, preserving and creating affordable housing. To be effective in this role, the Deputy Director must be both a community development expert and a housing policy advocate. The division oversees a multi-million dollar housing creation budget of local and federal sources that is used to leverage investments in housing developments that top a hundred million dollars annually.
This role is an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader to dramatically impact the lives of people in Boston. It is challenging work that requires strong project management skills, the ability to collaborate with a wide array of community stakeholders, and a strong underpinning of real estate development finance. If successful, the Director will lead the creation of housing policies, programs and development projects at a level that continues to position Boston as a national leader in community development.

The Volunteer Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing the Commission’s volunteer program goals including: volunteer recruitment, volunteer orientation, and volunteer station monitoring. This position is responsible for the coordination of an outreach plan to better engage a wide array of older adults in volunteer opportunities. The position is also responsible for managing volunteer timesheets and maintaining a volunteer database.
This position will have recurring access to vulnerable population as defined by AmeriCorps.
Incumbents are responsible for providing housing services to Boston's older adults, which include advocating on behalf of older adults in housing court, responding to emergency housing situations, shelter placement, conducting housing search, placement and processing applications, monitoring safety conditions, advocating for programs and services, preparing statistical reports and records, and performing related duties.

The Neighborhood Housing Development (NHD) unitassists developers in the creation and preservation of affordable housing by offering financial and technical assistance for affordable housing projects in the City. Under the supervision of the Deputy Director or designee, the Program Assistant will provide administrative services to NHD’s programs, projects, and operations. The Program Assistant will be located at the 12 Channel Street location.

The City of Boston Law Department seeks an experienced attorney to serve as Chief of Litigation. This is an opportunity to use your legal and leadership skills to support and guide the important work that the City’s departments do to serve our residents, workers, and visitors. The Chief of Litigation will help provide day-to-day supervision for attorneys in the Litigation Division, appear on key cases for the City, and advise policymakers on legal matters. The Department of Innovation and Technology is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our growing Citywide Analytics Team.
As part of a highly-collaborative group using data to improve all aspects of city government, the Senior Analyst will develop and manage Citywide Analytics Team projects from beginning to end. Successful candidates will be able to work closely with other technical staff, project stakeholders, and external partners across City government, manage diverse technologies and projects, and develop tools and best practices that can be implemented across the organization. The Senior Analyst will also seek out opportunities for learning that will complement the team’s existing capabilities, provide expert guidance to other members of the Citywide Analytics Team, and assist in training, mentoring, and hands-on assistance as needed.

The Building Decarbonization Program Manager will design and implement programs to equitably support building owners in decarbonizing their properties, delivering benefits to owners, tenants, and occupants, with a particular focus on serving under-resourced building owners and buildings in environmental justice neighborhoods. The Program Manager will develop a vision for the Retrofit Resource Hub, providing strategic and technical oversight on both resources and programming offered through the Hub for small and large buildings.This technical expert will have experience in equitable program design, experience with financing construction and retrofit projects, and efficient building design and systems, including electrification, weatherization, and renewable energy. The Program Manager will lead initiatives to support the decarbonization of smaller buildings with support for small businesses, renters, and residents.They will also collaborate closely with the BERDO Program Manager to ensure that buildings subject to the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO) are able to access technical and financial decarbonization guidance and support. The Building Decarbonization Program Manager will report to the Director of Carbon Neutrality and will directly supervise a team.

Mayor Wu's administration is committed to a Green New Deal for Boston, by reducing planet-warming pollution while creating economic opportunities for everyone, especially those from environmental justice communities who often suffer the worst impacts of climate change. The Carbon Neutrality team in the Environment Department works to implement building decarbonization policies and programs including the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO 2.0), which sets carbon targets for medium- and large-sized buildings across Boston to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, and the Retrofit Resource Hub, which provides technical and financial resources to building owners and tenants.
