The Director oversees the ongoing work of the Renew Boston Trust, the City’s program to implement energy and water efficiency and decarbonization measures in municipally-owned buildings and street lighting, and the development of related new initiatives to advance this work.The Director also oversees the City’s municipal aggregation program, Boston Community Choice Electricity. The Director is responsible for developing partnerships across the city, particularly with infrastructure and energy planners in the Office of Planning and the Boston Planning and Development Agency, as part of an all-of-government approach to equitable climate action. The Director is a leader for the City in equity and the energy sector, engaging with Boston’s energy utilities and in the engagement of other municipal offices as well as stakeholders in all segments of the Boston community.   The Director of Energy Justice reports to the Commissioner of the Environment Department, and interacts with all segments of Boston’s municipal government and of the Boston community. THIS IS A TEMPORARY GRANT-FUNDED POSITION.   The Boston Safe and Successful Youth Initiative (SSYI) is a multidisciplinary, comprehensive service delivery strategy to enhance the quality of life of youth who are the most at risk of being victims or perpetrators of gun violence. SSYI uses a well-developed data analysis system based on criminal history, network analysis and intelligence to look for individuals who present the greatest risk for gun violence and/or victimization.    The Boston Police Department has received a grant from the MA Executive Office of Health and Human Service to hire a full-time Crime Analyst to work within the Boston Police Department’s Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC).     Under the supervision of the Director of the BRIC, the Crime Analyst will be assigned analytic responsibilities in support of the SSYI model, to include analyzing crime data, coordinating information-sharing activities and managing data systems. The Crime Analyst will also be required to attend law enforcement and service providers meetings to improve communication and collaboration; contribute to the production of crime and intelligence analysis reports and briefings specific to the SSYI initiative; manage the secure, web-based platform used to facilitate collaboration across agencies, recording important information on individuals, and encouraging mutual accountability; present to stakeholders on analytic findings; and participate in discussions at meetings focused on prolific criminal offenders.
