The Public Works Department Chief Engineer for Construction Management holds an important leadership position overseeing multiple teams tasked with maintaining and improving the streets and sidewalks of the City of Boston. In addition to providing responsive, strategic maintenance and improvement to these assets, the capital improvement projects implemented by this team execute the goals of the GoBoston 2030 Transportation Plan. This includes safety improvements for all road users, pedestrian access, bikeways, transit priority,  and other improvement projects. The Construction division is also responsible for the installation of over a thousand Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps every year, and associated documentation,  in compliance with a legal settlement agreement. The Chief Engineer should be a seasoned veteran in construction management, able to plan and execute a complex series of projects and contracts, as well as an excellent communicator capable of leading and building a diverse workforce.
