Overview:

Under the direction of the Planning Department’s Chief Information Officer, you will play a significant role in the overall content strategy. The Senior Web Content Manager will protect the overall consistency of the user experience and coordinate content for the website.

Responsibilities:

The general duties and responsibilities of the position are included in but not limited to the information listed below.

  •  Responsible for formulating and updating a cross-platform content strategy.
  • Regularly review Google Analytics to suggest improvements in web content and its location.
  • Optimize content according to Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading the organization's website.
  • Updating HTML, CSS, and JavaScript regularly.
  • Conducting content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.
  • Creating appropriate website content aligned with the organization's strategy.
  • Improving the user experience of the website regularly.
  • Collaborating with all staff and management to ensure the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the organization’s standards.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all laws and regulations on the website.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Work requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus a minimum of three (3) years of full-time professional experience in web content creation, content management, communications, journalism, or related field.
  • Experience working in diverse media formats is required.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and with all levels of management.
  • Must have HTML and CMS skills to channel our stories in timely and impactful ways.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, standard concepts, best practices, and procedures, including content management systems, web analytics, XHTML, CSS, and Adobe CS suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects - some self-initiated - with various timelines is necessary.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and focus on details as required by the job.
  • Ability to manage simultaneous assignments while maintaining a critical attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on diverse teams and experience building strong relationships across a range of functional areas and seniority levels.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.

 

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED

 

Terms:

Union/Salary Plan/Grade: EXM/($75,000-$105,000)

Hours per week: 35
