Overview:

The mission of the Mayor's Office of Housing (MOH) is to make Boston a more equitable and inclusive city where all residents can thrive. MOH administers programs that create and preserve affordable housing, support homeowners and renters, provide housing and services to homeless individuals and families, and develop City-owned property. MOH seeks to carry out its mission through a lens of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion and addressing the effects of systemic racism in our city.

Within MOH, the Marketing Unit is one-half of the Marketing and Communications Team. While these teams work in parallel, presenting consistent messaging and branding, their external communications have different focuses. The Marketing Unit is the primary constituent-facing voice of MOH's many consumer-oriented programs and services, creating and executing targeted campaigns to promote these programs to Bostonians. Marketing produces these campaigns in multilingual formats tailored to the individual languages found in Boston's neighborhoods as required by the City of Boston's Language and Accessibility Ordinance.

The Marketing Unit promotes MOH's programs and services by using all available tools of engagement, including paid and public service advertising, direct outreach through physical and electronic mailers and outdoor signage, all printed collateral materials for the agency, including flyers, brochures, postcards, and all of their electronic formats including layout for social media and screens, as well as any other branded materials such as imprinted products, and the MOH website. The Marketing Unit works closely in collaboration with the Communications Unit, and both units provide reciprocal support to each other.
