The Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement (MOIA) works to strengthen the ability of immigrants and Boston’s diverse cultural and linguistic communities to fully participate in the economic, civic, social, and cultural life of Boston. Under the direction of the Chief of Staff and in collaboration with the Mayor’s Press Office, the Strategic Communications Manager is responsible for: (1) preparing proactive messaging and educational materials for our city’s immigrant communities in the face of changing policies at the local and federal level, (2) designing communications campaigns that tell the real story of immigrants in Boston, (3) positioning the Mayor and MOIA as thought leaders on immigrant and immigration issues in the media, (4) effectively communicating the Mayor’s immigrant impact agenda, her administration’s accomplishments, and any other MOIA initiatives to our city’s diverse residents, and (5) designing outreach and community engagement strategies for MOIA programs and initiatives.
