The mission of the Mayor's Office of Housing (MOH) is to make Boston a more equitable and inclusive city where all residents can thrive. MOH administers programs that create and preserve affordable housing, support homeowners and renters, provide housing and services to homeless individuals and families, and develop city-owned property. MOH seeks to carry out its mission through a lens of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion and addressing the effects of systemic racism in our city.
Reporting to the Chief of Housing or designee, the Director of Supportive Housing is responsible for leading the Department's efforts toward ending homelessness for individuals and families through access to permanent housing. The Director oversees the management of staff, policies, programs, and activities of the Supportive Housing Division. They will also work with senior leaders across federal, state, and city government, nonprofit, and private sectors to implement programs that will achieve the Mayor's vision of ending homelessness in our city.
The Supportive Housing Division, as the lead entity for the community planning body responsible for ending homelessness, is in the midst of developing several strategic plans to make homelessness rare and brief, and non-repeating across populations. The Director is a leader in this large-scale system design.
