Brief Job Description (essential duties of the job):
The Boston Transportation Department (BTD) is seeking a highly motivated Public Realm Program Planner to work on projects that will realize the City's vision to create public spaces that are vibrant, multi-modal, resilient and technologically advanced. The selected candidate will be committed to public service and improving the quality of life of Boston's residents; concerned for transportation's interface with urban design and the public realm; and envisioning cutting-edge initiatives.
The Public Realm Program Planner position requires understanding of the pressing need for action and the patience and persistence required to catalyze change in an environment where needs, resources, and opportunities vary enormously.
The Planner reports to and works directly with the Director of Policy and Planning at BTD.
