The Building Decarbonization Program Manager will design and implement programs to equitably support building owners in decarbonizing their properties, delivering benefits to owners, tenants, and occupants, with a particular focus on serving under-resourced building owners and buildings in environmental justice neighborhoods. The Program Manager will develop a vision for the Retrofit Resource Hub, providing strategic and technical oversight on both resources and programming offered through the Hub for small and large buildings.This technical expert will have experience in equitable program design, experience with financing construction and retrofit projects, and efficient building design and systems, including electrification, weatherization, and renewable energy. The Program Manager will lead initiatives to support the decarbonization of smaller buildings with support for small businesses, renters, and residents.They will also collaborate closely with the BERDO Program Manager to ensure that buildings subject to the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO) are able to access technical and financial decarbonization guidance and support. The Building Decarbonization Program Manager will report to the Director of Carbon Neutrality and will directly supervise a team.

Mayor Wu's administration is committed to a Green New Deal for Boston, by reducing planet-warming pollution while creating economic opportunities for everyone, especially those from environmental justice communities who often suffer the worst impacts of climate change. The Carbon Neutrality team in the Environment Department works to implement building decarbonization policies and programs including the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO 2.0), which sets carbon targets for medium- and large-sized buildings across Boston to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, and the Retrofit Resource Hub, which provides technical and financial resources to building owners and tenants.
