Overview:

This position develops and implements marketing activities to increase Age Strong’s visibility assisting with partnership cultivation, sponsorship, and grant writing, as well as nurturing new and old relationships with collaborative partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the Commission’s marketing plan and assist with the implementation of marketing campaigns.
  • Develop content and increase social media & website presence. 
  • Assists with generating innovative strategies and tactics for cultivating new partnerships.
  • Coordinates marketing and partnership operations and maintains marketing and outreach materials up to date. 
  • Assists with the plan to expand Age Strong’s reach into Boston’s diverse communities with specific focus on underserved and immigrant communities.
  • Assist in organizing and streamlining how we communicate about our programs/services offering user-friendly concepts.
  • Assist with the development of strategic marketing initiatives and activities. Maintain an annual marketing and outreach calendar including events, workshops, appearances, and other opportunities.  
  • Research trends and recommend marketing and outreach goals for all Commission programs and services. 
  • Contribute towards a system for ongoing assessment of the Commission's marketing strategies and recommend modification.
  • Assists with the grant procurement process for new grants for the Commission. Effectively track requirements and deadlines and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate communications with partners and sponsors. Responds to inquiries, drafts letters, etc.
  • Flexible schedule as some nights and weekends are required.
  • Travel to sites as required.
  • Complies with the City of Boston Policies/Procedures protecting client information and the confidentiality of the information in accordance with the Federal and State regulations.
  • Assists with Commission events as needed.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in marketing, communications, program and partnership management.
  • Associate’s degree may count for up to one (1) year of required experience, bachelor’s degree may count for up to two (2) years of required experience.
  • Advertising, marketing, media relations, and events experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of Canva, email marketing, & social media platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with the aging field preferred.
  • Experience with grant writing preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to convey information effectively and promote programs.
  • Experience with marketing databases, email marketing, social media and/or other display advertising platforms.
  • Experience with the principles, techniques and practices of partnership cultivation and stewardship.
  • Creative with experience identifying target audience and devising targeted campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
  • Ability to assess, target, and seek potential partners with similar agenda or reciprocal offerings.
  • Ability to customize partnership/sponsorship agreements and steward deliverables according to agreements.
  • Culturally competent with experience and comfortability delivering services to a multiracial, multicultural and multilingual population. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Professional, adaptable and collaborative attitude.
  • Proven logistical coordination skills preferred. 
  • Strong problem solving ability is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills both in person and by phone.
  • Strong customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
  • Self-starter with strong time management ability.
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise and comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to give team feedback.
  • Demonstrates proper use of databases, and data management tools.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Travel within Boston will be required in support of the position’s responsibilities. 
  • MA driver’s license preferred. 
  • Experience in typical office software systems (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, or equivalent) required. 
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, CaboVerdean Creole, Vietnamese, Cantonese, or Mandarin) highly preferred.
