Overview:

Under general supervision of the Alterations and Repairs Foreman, the General Repairperson (Mechanical Equipment Repairperson) performs work in the areas of light carpentry, plastering, flooring, masonry, painting, and general buildings maintenance and other duties. 

Responsibilities:

  • Takes general instructions and implements work plan to achieve desired results.
  • Works with other crew members or independently on projects.
  • Secures equipment and supplies.
  • Responds to emergencies and other duties as required.
  • Operate stationary and portable power tools and equipment.
  • Maintains daily logs and reports as reasonably requested.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years experience in construction trade or buildings maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate general instructions and implement construction plans.
  • Ability to read plans and specifications.
  • Must have and maintain a current Massachusetts Drivers License.
  • Mass/Boston Builders License or Trade License preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and focus on detail as required by the job.

Boston Residency Required.

Union/SalaryPlan/Grade: SENA, MM1-5
