Overview:

Under general supervision participates in the planning and development or administrative procedures by assisting and/or conducting studies of current procedures to determine the feasibility of improvements, implementing costs reductions and/or improving the efficiency of operations. Manages the procedures for executing the Auditing Department's statutory responsibilities for payments, records and audit for the City. Supervises clerical and/or administrative staff. Performs other related duties as required.

Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision of an administrative employee of higher grade.

  • Participant in the planning and development of administrative procedures by assisting in and/or conducting studies of current procedures to determine the feasibility of improvements, implement construction, eliminate duplication of services, and improve efficiency of operations.
  • Participates in salary surveys and other studies involving problems as employee turnover, absenteeism, abuse of sick leave privileges, and recruitment problems.
  • Evaluate between administrative needs and data processing capabilities participating in studies involving the transfer of records to electronic data processing systems.
  • Develops appropriate analytic and statistical models and techniques for use in the process of function evaluation.
  • Evaluate program request made by process; prepares statistical reports, champs, and graphs and makes recommendations based on survey and study results.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have at least three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time, professional or technical experience in management analysis, procedures analysis, methods analysis, work implication, or value analysis, or any equivalent combination of such experience and the substitutions below.

 


SUBSTITUTIONS:

 

Successfully completed education toward an undergraduate degree form a recognized school with a major in public or business administration or management or industrial engineering may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience on the basis of one year or such education for six months of the required experience. A graduate degree from a recognized school with a major in public or business administration or management or industrial engineering may be substituted for the required experience. Successfully completed education of less than one year will be prorated on the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

 

 

Boston residency required.
