Overview:

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will support the administration, planning, strategic, and operational activities for the Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and coordination of programs and their activities for the Age Strong Commission. Support program growth and development as necessary.
  • In collaboration with teams, assist with the development and integration of new programs and initiatives into overall Age Strong structure.  Monitor implementation of program policies and practices.
  • Manage existing and implement new civic engagement programs.
  • Support key initiatives; collect information to aid in the drafting of RFPs and proposals.  
  • Work with teams to ensure programs stay on schedule and within stated budgets, and function smoothly.
  • Support the assessment and evaluation of current and new Commission programs and operating systems, and support the development of more efficient and impactful processes. 
  • Coordinate with Finance and Development staff as needed to ensure financial and reporting information are accurate.
  • Support Age Strong team with data management and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate interactions/relationships between staff, clients, administrators, and all other program stakeholders.
  • Schedule and organize program-related meetings and events.
  • Oversee the use of technology for program operations, such as video conferencing technology, presentation software, and other communications technologies.
  • Create and maintain program records, reports, presentations, and proposals.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in program and/or project management, policy and public administration, or related fields. 
  • Associate’s degree may count for up to one (1) year of required experience, bachelor’s degree may count for up to two (2) years of required experience.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and think strategically.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to convey information effectively.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships across sectors.
  • Experience working with diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional, adaptable and collaborative attitude.
  • Proven logistical coordination skills preferred. 
  • Strong customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
  • Self-starter with strong time management ability.
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise and comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to give team feedback.
  • Demonstrates proper use of databases, and data management tools.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience in typical office software systems (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, or equivalent) required. 
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, CaboVerdean Creole, Vietnamese, Cantonese, or Mandarin) highly preferred.
  • Flexible schedule as some nights and weekends are required.
  • Travel throughout Boston may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
  • Performs related duties as required.
