The mission of the Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) is to make Boston a more equitable and inclusive city where all residents can thrive. MOH oversees programs that create and preserve affordable housing, support homeowners and renters, provide housing and services to homeless individuals and families, and develop city-owned property. The Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) seeks to carry out its mission through a lens of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion and addressing the effects of systemic racism in our city.
Within the Mayor’s Office of Housing, The Boston Home Center helps Boston residents buy, improve, and keep their homes. The Home Center offers training, financial help and counseling to first-time homebuyers. The staff guide and counsel families to help avoid foreclosure and provide help to homeowners who need to make repairs. The Home Center also markets homes developed for income-eligible, first-time homebuyers.
Under the direction of the Deputy Director or their designee, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for overseeing program design and delivery of special programs of the Boston Home Center (such as Additional Dwelling Units and Condo Affordability Preservation) focused on increasing opportunities for low and moderate income Boston residents to buy homes, providing technical assistance to existing homeowners, and marketing income restricted housing. The Senior Program Manager may also be assigned to manage additional programs related to homeownership, depending on need.
