Overview:

Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

 

Reporting to the Director of Land Records or other assigned supervisor, performs research, drafting and related duties in a computerized mapping environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Makes calculations.
  • Writes notices and descriptions of parcel changes.
  • Checks titles, plans and sketches.
  • Conducts research at, and retrieves documents from, other City of Boston and governmental departments and agencies.
  • Provides assistance to the public and other staff. 
  • Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • At least two (2) years professional experience in civil engineering drafting or related field; appropriate educational substitutions may be accepted for one (1) year of this experience.
  • Experience with computerized mapping applications such as ESRI preferred.
  • Experience in a personal computer environment and with application software preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills preferred.
  • Ability to manage projects and serve as part of a team preferred.
  • Knowledge of mapping, mathematics and related disciplines preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

 

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
