Overview:

The mission of the Mayor's Office of Housing (MOH) is to make Boston a more equitable and inclusive city where all residents can thrive. MOH oversees programs that create and preserve affordable housing, support homeowners and renters, provide housing and services to homeless individuals and families, and develop city-owned property. The Mayor's Office of Housing seeks to carry out its mission through a lens of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion and addressing the effects of systemic racism in our city.

The Neighborhood Housing Development (NHD) unit assists developers in the creation and preservation of affordable housing by offering financial and technical assistance for affordable housing projects in the City. 

 

Under the supervision of the Deputy Director or designee, the Program Assistant will provide administrative services to NHD’s programs, projects, and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative and program support to the Deputy Director, Operations Manager, and the development and the design staff. 
  • Provides assistance with processing all project applications, including Loops clearances and resolutions of delinquencies.
  • Maintains program, contractor and developer information, databases, and mailing lists.
  • Assists in preparation and submission of requisitions, requests for proposals, contracts, and all program service orders, etc.
  • Coordinates and compiles data for reports and requests for information.
  • Processes and tracks payments and invoices.
  • Helps organize meetings, NHD events and assists in coordinating efforts of MOH funding programs. 
  • Provides appropriate information to clients and contractors.
  • Performs related work as required. 

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • At least two (2) years administrative experience required, preferably experience in public administration.
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to attend to detail and initiate special projects of moderate complexity with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once.
  • Proficiency with computer based office software, such as MS Office (Word, Excel and Access), Salesforce, Peoplesoft, and working knowledge of desktop, mobile and web based platforms preferred.
  • Appropriate educational substitutions may be made.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

 BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED

 

Terms:
