Overview:

The City of Boston’s Election Department is seeking individuals to serve as Listing Officers and as Data Entry Clerks beginning in May and ending in August. Under the supervision and direction of the Election Department Staff, the Listing Officers will go door to door in neighborhoods throughout the City to complete the Annual Listing of Residents which is required by Massachusetts General Laws. In addition, participants will be performing data entry and clerical work related to Boston’s upcoming State and Municipal Elections. This work is crucial and necessary to protect voter rights as well as to provide city officials with pertinent information to provide better municipal services.

Responsibilities:

  • Talking with residents throughout various neighborhoods to gather residency information
  • Update and input data as provided by the residents on their annual census form.
  • Sorting and filing Voter Registration Forms.
  • Assist with phone calls from the general public.
  • Considerable walking, as well as stair climbing.
  • Assists with tasks related to election preparation
  • Participating in Voter Registration Outreach events in preparation for the upcoming elections and other duties assigned by Election supervisors.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize assignments, organizations, professionalism, strong verbal communication, ability to work with minimal supervision when needed, ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

TERMS:
Temporary Role/Non-Union/$15.00 per hour
Hours 35 per week
