Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

 

Under the supervision of the Director of Planning and Development, the Resource Development Manager will oversee and coordinate the planning and resource development for one (1) to two (2) BCYF regions and two (2) program divisions, along with assisting with the coordination of research, marketing and community partnership.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and provides resource development with BCYF regions/clusters and units/divisions in conjunction with the Cluster Administrators and Administrative Coordinators.
  • Develops, implements and maintains system(s) for identifying and tracking public and private funding opportunities and funds received.
  • Designs, develops and implements productions of monthly program development newsletter.
  • Provides planning, program development, fundraising, data collection and extensive grant writing training and technical assistance to centers’ staff and councils’ members.
  • Coordinates and expand the Planning and Resource Development Library.
  • Assists with the development and coordination of research, trend/status reports and surveys that provide data and key findings on Boston’s children, youth and families.  
  • Assists in the overall public relations, marketing and community outreach through various means. 
  • Assists with various projects and initiatives, as needed. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Two (2) to three (3) years in planning, program development, grant writing or fundraising.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study preferred. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.  
  • Ability to work with timelines and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to set and manage priorities in a changing work environment.  
  • Knowledge of Boston neighborhoods.
  • Knowledge of Boston’s non-profit and human service field. 
  • Knowledge of budget preparations and procedures.  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and focus on detail as required by the job.

 

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED.
