Overview:

This is a provisional appointment. 

 

Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

 

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Finance, assists in the general administration of the Inspectional Services Department Budget Unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for logging accounts, maintaining monthly and annual ledgers, processing bills, accounts payable and refunds; entering purchase requisitions into PeopleSoft.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and maintenance of the department's vehicles and office equipment, i.e., copiers, fax machines.
  • Assists with mail and supplies as required.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Applicants must possess two (2) years of full time, or equivalent part time, experience as a cashier, bookkeeper, bank teller, or experience in an office environment.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PeopleSoft, Hansen and Inovah is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • A multi-lingual candidate is also preferred.
  • Applicants meeting the minimum entrance qualifications will be considered for this position.

 

       Boston Residency Required.

       Hours per week: 35
