The Boston Parks and Recreation Department (BPRD) is responsible for the stewardship of the open space portfolio of more than 330 properties across the City of Boston. BPRD is the core agency that oversees the tracking, protection, maintenance and expansion of the City’s tree canopy, both in Parks and other City-owned open space, and in the public right of way.
In an effort to enhance Boston’s urban forest we are expanding the Urban Forestry Division within BPRD which will build and direct the division and work to ensure urban forestry principles and practices are incorporated into many public initiatives and plans, and become integrated into citywide operations.
Brief Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Urban Forestry or a designee, the Executive Assistant for Urban Forestry will support the Urban Forestry Division in a variety of administrative tasks related to the operation of the division.
