This is a Labor Service Position.
Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):
Under general supervision, performs installation, maintenance, repair and related work on street lighting units, flood lighting units, underpass and overpass lighting, bridge and general area lighting; repairs and maintains gas lamps.
Responsible for the proper handling and disposal of toxic materials; responsible for the care, custody and maintenance of floodlights on the outside of bridges; operates all types of equipment necessary for maintenance, repair, and installation of lighting services; and performs related work as required.
The City and the AFSCME Union acknowledge the ongoing technological changes in the panel board, and that employees will attend required training sessions due to such changes.
Required to work any emergency as directed by the Commissioner of Public Works.
Must be available to work 3:30 p.m. to Midnight shift, or as assigned.
BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED.
