Created in 2014, the Economic Development Cabinet’s mission is to make Boston an appealing and accessible place for working families, entrepreneurs, businesses, and investors to innovate, grow, and thrive in a way that fosters inclusion, broadens opportunity, and shares prosperity, thereby enhancing the quality of life for Bostonians and the experience for all visitors. The Economic Development Cabinet includes the Small and Local Business Enterprise and Boston Residents Job Policy Units, Business Strategy Unit, Offices for Consumer Affairs and Licensing, Workforce Development, Tourism and Special Events, the Boston Employment Commission, and the Boston Redevelopment Authority/Economic Development Industrial Corporation. As Boston continues to grow and develop, the Economic Development Cabinet is pursuing strategies to maximize the potential for all Bostonians, businesses, and visitors. The Economic Development Cabinet is seeking an International Business Strategy Manager who can leverage this potential.
The International Business Strategy Manager works closely with the Director of Business Strategy to plan and promote trade and investment strategies, economic partnerships, and international business expansions and relocations in the City of Boston and strengthen Boston’s position in the international business market. The International Business Strategy Manager also collaborates in building partnerships internationally in coordination with the City’s Manager of International Partnerships. A successful candidate will demonstrate a plan to coordinate and strengthen Boston’s presence in the international market, with foreign relations experience and management in coordinating multiple activities to achieve goals. The International Business Strategy Manager markets and communicates the strengths and opportunities of doing business in Boston, internationally and manages data collection and metrics to measure success.
Travel abroad may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
May be required to work outside of normal business hours and attend periodic evening meetings.
Boston Residency Required.
