Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

 

Under the direction of the Associate Director, the Grants Manager is responsible for the management of non-city funded grants within the Boston Centers for Youth & Families’ Central Office. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for record keeping, documentation and reporting for assigned non-city funded grants.
  • Ensures adequate internal monitoring and tracking of grant revenues and expenditures.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly financial reports and reimbursements packages.
  • Examines invoices for validity and accuracy of requests on all assigned grants.
  • Ensures the grant matching requirements are being met.
  • Ensures that appropriate records are maintained for equipment purchases under grants.
  • Works cooperatively with Comptroller in developing and maintaining a computerized general ledger for assigned grants and developing procedures for managing non-city funded grants.
  • Works with the Comptroller to computerize record keeping, financial reporting and tracking records.
  • Supervises staff.
  • Responsible for additional fiscal management duties as required by Associate Director or designee.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of relevant business experience in a managerial capacity administering grants.
  • Graduate from an undergraduate college or university may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data preferred.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with funding source staff preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations governing federal, state and city grants preferred.
  • Familiarity with computers.

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED.

 

Terms:

 

Union/Salary Plan/Grade: SENA/MM5-7

Hours Per Week: 35 

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
