Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):


Reporting to the Director of the Tax Data Administration Unit (TDA) or other assigned supervisor, is responsible for the preparation of reports and achievement of timelines as they relate to the recording of property ownership and other real estate information. 


  • Processes information, handles inquiries and prepares correspondence. 
  • Conducts research, gathers information and makes recommendations. 
  • Provides information to the public, to co-workers and to other departments. 
  • Maintains data files and other information sources. 
  • Carries out special projects, represents unit, trains and supervises staff as assigned.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • At least three (3) years of fulltime, or equivalent part-time, experience in data management or related field. 
  • Appropriate educational substitutions may be accepted for two years of this experience. 
  • Thorough and extensive knowledge of laws, regulations and procedures pertaining to property ownership, the functions of the Registry of Deeds and of assessing procedures and policies preferred. 
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skill preferred. 
  • Mathematical and data analysis skills preferred. 
  • Knowledge of computer operating environments and of application software preferred. 
  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills preferred. 
  • Analytic skill, including ability to innovate, to make recommendations, to handle multiple assignments, and to meet deadlines preferred. 
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

City of Boston Residency Required



Union/Salary Plan/Grade:  SEIU/RL-14

35 hours per week; M-F, 9a-5p
