This is a provisional appointment.
Brief Job Description (essential functions of the position):
Under general direction, the Head Account Clerk has administrative and customer relations responsibilities in the Construction Division of Public Works.
Performs a variety of administrative and clerical, including but not limited to:
Processes and checks estimates for payment, time extensions, etc.
Manages spreadsheets; maintains a centralized filing system, maintains a wide variety of accounts, maintains google sheets and google docs.
Handles calls and complaints (311) for all field operations; routes calls to appropriate person.
Supports inspectors with data and reports complaints to them.
Works with various departments to schedule appointments and coordinate daily functions.
Performs related work as required.
Required to work any emergency as directed by the Chief of Streets or designee.
Applicants must have at least three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time administrative experience; some knowledge of accounting work procedures.
Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Google docs is preferred.
Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
