This is a provisional appointment.

 

Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

 

Under general supervision, the Head Clerk & Secretary will perform clerical and administrative work of moderate to considerable difficulty in the Office of the Legal Advisor.

Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities may include: performing all administrative functions related to the efficient operation of the office; responding to information requests internally and externally; preparing directives and confidential reports; typing correspondence; handling payroll; telephone duties; data entry; maintaining files; and performs related work as required.  This position requires handling highly sensitive legal information; confidentiality is a must.

 

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

Applicants must have at least four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid administrative support experience in an office environment. Prior experience in a legal office setting preferred.  Must be able to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job. Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel is required; experience in Microsoft Access is strongly preferred.
