Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):
Is responsible for the care and maintenance of all buildings, both preventative maintenance, ongoing maintenance, systems improvements and emergency repairs. Provides direct oversight of trades, contract workers, active facilities contractual services, provides oversight to the Library’s building-focused major and capital projects in conjunction with Library management and other city Departments, in particular, the City of Boston’s Property Management Departments – the Public Facilities Department and; Public Works; the Parks Department, and the Departments of Energy and Emergency Management. Ensures the interior and exterior of Buildings are maintained to Library standards to support a welcoming clean and efficient environment. Is responsible for planning and executing energy efficiency programs and improvements and that all systems are well maintained and in good working order.
