Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

 

Under the direction of the BAIS Financials Team Lead, maintain and support the BAIS (PeopleSoft Financials) eProcurement/Purchasing modules.

Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and educates end-users on the delivered features of the modules to maximize the City's investment in the PeopleSoft Financials ERP.
  • Evaluates and recommends business process change and, if necessary, designs solutions that may include application modifications and enhancements.
  • Creates design documents for modifications.  
  • In cooperation with key central departments, may direct, organize and schedule project related tasks, such as end user meetings, software upgrades, and business cycles calendar events.
  • Works closely with application developers and others to troubleshoot and resolve functional application problems, and assist central department personnel with the writing of complex queries.
  • Analyzes the impact of, prioritize and coordinate the migration, testing and the functional sign-off of modifications and vendor delivered patches and fixes to the application.
  • Documents and tracks application activities and events.
  • Maintains documentation supporting the configuration decisions and other significant decisions relating to the Purchasing and eProcurement modules.
  • Provides oral and written reports and presentations clearly, concisely, and effectively.
  • Assists in the development and the delivery of end-user training.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes service requests from user departments.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • At least three (3) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time professional experience in work in which the major duties were in information systems analysis. Successful completion of two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, education toward an undergraduate degree from a recognized school with a major in computer science, management information systems or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. A bachelor's degree in the above listed majors may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
  • Prior experience with the PeopleSoft Financials application is highly desirable.
  • At least two (2) years professional experience supporting an Enterprise Wide Financial application is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various software products, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Access is required.
  • Working knowledge of the City of Boston financial business practices and policies highly preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of PeopleSoft FN application software highly preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

 

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED.
