Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):
Safety and Stewardship Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Library’s physical security and safety programs with direct day to day oversight of security staff that are employed by the Library , security contracts and safety and security procedures at all Library locations. The manager is responsible for management of a security systems program that includes security cameras, card access systems, intrusion devises and other physical security infrastructure. The purpose of the position is to deliver a secure and safe experience for patrons and staff, while ensuring exhibitions and collections are maintained securely, balancing security, access and the user experience. This manager also assists in the supervision and stewardship of all library properties, the shipping and delivery system and works with outside groups and library staff in the implementation of public and private events and programs. The manager assists with establishing, system-wide safety and security procedures and improvement plans and the safekeeping of collections and physical assets.
At least five years of full-time or equivalent part-time, administrative, managerial experience in any one or combination of the following fields: Library, Museum or public service security, facilities security, public safety, law enforcement, , , events logistics management. At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity. Significant and substantial current experience in administering a comparable program of Security management. Strong customer service experience with a focus on public service
A bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Security Management or related field from a recognized college or university. Advanced pertinent education desirable. In exceptional instances, specialized education, training and/or experience may be substituted for part or all of the educational requirements.
