This is a provisional appointment.

 

Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

Reporting directly to the Manager of Applications Development, the Senior Programmer will be assigned to the Information Systems Group.

Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Maintains and develops business applications under web-based technology platforms
  • Builds queries and reports from databases for reporting and analysis purposes
  • Provides front-line call support for police information systems including user assistance and troubleshooting including MARK43 records management system
  • Coordinates and prioritizes requests for information from users Department-wide and coordinates FOIA requests
  • Works closely with application developers and technical support staff  to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Maintains documentation for applications
  • Performs related work as required.

 

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:  

Applicants must have at least three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional technical support experience in the Information Technology field, the major duties of which must have included technical support within a Microsoft Windows environment.  Applicants must have 2 years working knowledge of Microsoft .ASP.NET, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and web technologies. It is strongly preferred that Senior Programmer candidates have an Associate’s degree in Computer Science and/or current certification for A+, and/or Microsoft certification.  Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
