Overview:

This is a temporary position with hours that vary.

Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

Reporting to the Technical Manager, assists in the building and breaking down of a variety of staging equipment including audio, video and lighting for special events.

Responsibilities:

  • Setups and strikes professional audio, video, lighting, and staging equipment at a variety of events.
  • Interacts with clients and staff in a positive and professional manner.
  • Drives company vehicles, i.e.,12 passenger van, to transport equipment.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • At least two (2) years of fulltime, or equivalent part-time, relevant work experience as a stagehand, sound technician, etc., preferred.
  • A bachelor's or associate's degree preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external parties such as employees from other departments and private companies in order to collaborate and coordinate activities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Must have and maintain a current Massachusetts driver’s license. Experience driving 14’ box truck a plus but not required.
  • Ability to perform manual labor necessary to put together equipment, lighting, staging, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Boston Residency Required

 

Terms:

 

Hourly Rate: $17.00

Hours per week: Varies from week to week up to 0 to 30 hours per week.
